How to get CIHT membership?
Your proposer and seconder must have consented for CIHT to contact them about your application. If you are applying for Associate, Member or Fellow grade then you must have a Proposer and a Seconder to sign your application form.

You can apply to become an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in two ways:

How do you get Mciob?
Individuals can become Members of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) through the achievement of a Construction Managerial NVQ at Level 6 or 7. Candidates that have completed a Level 7 NVQ (Masters degree level) are eligible to apply for Membership through the fast-track ‘Shortened Review’ route.
Can you get IEng without a degree?
To become an incorporated engineer (IEng) If you don’t have a bachelor’s degree, but you have a foundation degree, HNC or HND, you can work towards becoming an incorporated engineer (IEng).
Is IEng a qualification?
Engineering graduates often work towards professional qualification as a chartered engineer (CEng) or incorporated engineer (IEng). A chartered engineer or incorporated engineer qualification shows that you have achieved a benchmarked level of competence.

Generally, applicants will need at least 3 years’ experience at a management level.
Can I put Ciob after my name?
The Applicant grade does not provide any entitlement to post-nominals or designations; however, by progressing through the most appropriate pathway to membership, you can gain your Chartered Membership and enjoy all the benefits that come with being MCIOB.
How long does it take to become IEng?
However, once your application has been assessed and approved by your institution, and sent to the Engineering Council, it will normally be processed within 1 to 3 weeks of receipt (with the exception of the period mid-December to mid-January when it might take a bit longer).
Is IEng worth having?
IEng and CEng are both well-recognised titles that provide public demonstration of your achievements. It is well worth going for the IEng title as it provides you with all the benefits of professional registration, but sooner.
