Who owns Tangari Regional Park?
The whole of the City of Onkaparinga region is within the area traditionally owned by the Kaurna people and Tangari Regional Park is no exception. The area occupied by the park and its surrounds was used by Europeans as agricultural land during the 1830s.
What is tangtangari National Park?
Tangari is a popular recreational destination with areas of high conservation value. Dedicated walking trails throughout the park ensure the protection of these areas. The park also includes a creek line and two dams (upper and lower), originally built to supply water for stock.
What’s happening with the Tangari dam?
The existing erosion to the east of the lower dam and footbridge will be filled with soil to match the surrounding surface levels and vegetation will be reinstated.
