On June 19, 2018, the Marine Corps selected BAE Systems to produce the ACV. The initial contract—valued at $198 million—was for low-rate production of 30 vehicles to be delivered by the autumn of 2019.
What happened to the AAAV?
The AAAV was renamed to EFV in September 2003. The Government Accountability Office would later state that the development phase of three years was insufficient, causing delays and prototype failures, particularly in reliability.

The ACV is an advanced 8×8 open ocean-capable vehicle that is powered by an Iveco Cursor 16 six-cylinder, 700 hp (515 kW) turbocharged and intercooled multifuel diesel engine, which develops 2213 lb. ft. (3000 Nm) of torque.
Why did the AAV sink?
