Do UK prisons have restaurants?
Just desserts: Clink’s prison restaurants to open across England and Wales. The scheme trains inmates as chefs, waiters and caterers to help them prepare for life outside jail. At present there are Clink restaurants at four prisons: Cardiff; Brixton in south London; High Down in Surrey; and Styal in Cheshire.

The original concept of The Clink Restaurant was created by Alberto Crisci MBE, then catering manager at HMP High Down in Surrey. He recognised real potential in the prisoners working in the kitchens and introduced accredited City & Guilds NVQ training.

The Clink Charity’s sole aim is to reduce reoffending rates of ex-offenders. We work in partnership with Her Majesty’s Prison Service to run projects that train and give practical skills to prisoners to aid their rehabilitation.
