Gently clean the ignitor with a soft, dry toothbrush. Clean food particles out of holes in the burner ring using a toothpick. If debris is present, use a scouring pad between the ignitor and the burner to clean and make sure the spark can be made to the burner.
How do you fix a clicking igniter on a stove?
All you have to do is clean out the gunk.
- Unplug the power source.
- Remove the burner cap.
- Use a toothbrush or other small scrubber to remove/dislodge food. Around burner. Under knobs. Around igniter.
- Use a Q-Tip dipped in alcohol to get rid of the last little bits of buildup.

How good is this ignitor for a r486g?
Better than original Purchased this part for a Wolf range model #R486G. Great fit. The ignitor comes with plenty of wire length. I actually had to trim some off so there wouldn’t be so much slack that may find its way near the burner.
