Are the new SuperLux headphones any good?
The New Superluxes Are Good! The HD330, HD440, and the HD660. I never doubted Superlux’s ability to make headphone drivers. From the time we posted the review of the HD668B, to my other exposure of Superlux headphones, including the HD662, HD662B, and the HD669, I’ve always been impressed at the quality of the sound you get for the price.
Is the SuperLux hd669 good for music listening?
From the HD662 to the HD669, all boasts great clarity and instrument separation, but mostly they have been too bright and too thin on the midrange section for good music listening purposes. Not so with these new generation Superluxes.
Is the hd440 better than the hd330 or the hd660?
The HD330 and the HD660, though not possesing the sweet midrange of the HD440, actually gives a much better vocal presence than the HD440 at most times. Quite a contradiction, but it’s true. The overall pace of the HD440 is quite moderate and slightly more to the laid-back presentation.
Are the SuperLux HD 668b worth it?
Amazon.com. The Superlux HD 668B and the Superlux HD 681 are both very good headphones if you like a neutral sound, but the HD 681 have a slight edge. While they both can sound quite harsh and sharp, the HD 668B also lack thump and rumble, on top of sounding a bit muddier. The HD 681 are also much more comfortable.
How good are the cables on the SuperLux?
The Superlux also comes with 3m and 1m cables – which can be used together giving 4m – and cable quality is pretty decent.
What is the difference between the AKG and the SuperLux?
The impedance of the Superlux and AKG is about the same (56 and 55 ohm respectively) but the Superlux has slightly lower sensitivity; I strongly recommend using a proper headphone amplifier to drive these headphones, a normal “headphone out” socket almost certainly won’t be capable of delivering enough current to get the best out of them.
