Where do you fit a MagnaClean?
MagnaClean Professional is suitable for all central heating systems and can be fitted anywhere on the main heating circuit. In order to achieve the best protection for the boiler, it is recommended that MagnaClean Professional is fitted between the last radiator and the boiler (see diagram overleaf).
How often should I clean MagnaClean?
How often does MagnaClean need to be serviced/cleaned? After initial installation and checking first pass capture of magnetite, usually once a year alongside the boiler service.
Does MagnaClean go on flow or return?
The pump should be on the flow side, so assuming that is correct then I would guess the horizontal pipe on the left is the return. The perfect place for it should be on the return, however, to do that will need a couple of bends in the pipe and you may not have enough room.
Can I clean MagnaClean myself?
When you have a MagnaClean filter fitted, it collects attracts the particles that cause sludge and this can then be cleaned off as part of a regular boiler service. It’s also something you can do yourself.
What’s Magna clean?
A MagnaClean is a central heating system filter which is capable of capturing virtually 100% of the Magnetite within a system. Magnetite is the official name of system sludge, it’s made up from Iron Oxide the result of a chemical reaction between the different metals and air ingress into the heating system.
Can MagnaClean be installed horizontally?
MagnaClean Professional can be fitted in any orientation. Each isolation valve can rotate through 360° making it possible to install in a vertical position on horizontal pipework.
Can you add inhibitor through MagnaClean?
There are different ways to add central heating inhibitor, depending on what kind of central heating system you have. You can also do this via the Magnaclean – isolate it, drain water out of the bottom and add inhibitor to the top!
