Can you use super glue for Arrow nocks?

For gluing everything together, I prefer to use Fletch-tite glue from Bohning, Inc. to glue on the nocks, but superglue will work too. Next, glue on the nocks, but use only a small amount of glue. The solvent in the glue will melt the nocks if you use too much. Hold the nock in place for a few seconds.

GORILLA GLUE works great, and won’t crack from cold like some epoxy glues do. Personally I use the blue top for vanes and insert but hot glue for nocks, that way I can turn them if necessary to tune arrow or align my moon nocks after fletching if necc. I use the hot melt also.

Low temp hot-melt when and if used properly will hold inserts well enough, and can be removed. Superglue will hold until a hard impact breaks the bond. It can be removed by using a drill bit as a slide hammer inside the shaft. 24 hour epoxies seem to hold the best, but are not very removable without risking damage.

Can I use hot glue for Arrow inserts?

Arrow points can come out in the target mat if a hot melt with a too-low melting temperature is used. For especially delicate arrow components, a 24-hour epoxy or flexible cyanoacrylate (super glue) can be used instead of hot melt.
