What is a CTA U-pass?
Your U-Pass provides you unlimited rides on the CTA during your enrollment as a full-time student in a participating institution. (The unlimited riding your U-Pass provides is on CTA buses and trains, only. To use your U-Pass to ride Pace buses, load transit value or passes valid for your trip on Pace.)
How much does UPass cost?
The monthly U-Pass BC fees for eligible students are set at: $41.00 from Jan 1 2020 to Apr 30 2020. $42.50 from May 1 2020 to Apr 30 2021. $43.35 from May 1 2021 to Apr 30 2022.
How do you get UPass?
In order to access the UPass, participants must download the My Fare app on their smartphone and set up a myID account using their school email address (e.g. @ucalgary.ca, @mtroyal.ca, etc.). The UPass will be automatically sent to the participant’s ticket wallet in their My Fare app.
Does U-pass work on Metra?
Can I use my U-Pass on Metra or Pace? A U-Pass may only be used on Pace buses if you have added your own fare to the card. U-Passes cannot be used on Metra at all.
What is Pace Chicago?
Pace. Pace (suburban bus) runs buses throughout the suburbs (routes 208 and above) and many routes connect with CTA. Major routes run daily through mid-evening, every 30 to 60 minutes. You can use your Ventra Card to ride. Pace connects with CTA and Metra in dozens of locations.
Is CTA free for UIC students?
All full-time students are assessed the CTA Transportation fee. There is no means to waive this fee. This includes regular UIC students‚ and those taking courses at UIC for the summer or as part of many continuing education programs, including full time employees of the university.

Does the UPass work in the summer?
Is the Electronic UPass Valid for the Full year? No. Because student status can change from term to term, the UPass will be issued each semester: Fall (September- December), Winter (January – April) and Spring/Summer (May-August).

Lost or Stolen Cards You’ll need to purchase a new Adult Compass Card and pay the $6 refundable deposit. When you get your new Compass Card, complete the steps on upassbc.translink.ca to link your U-Pass BC to your new card.
