It is used to treat Parkinson’s disease (sometimes called “paralysis agitans” or “shaking palsy”) and its symptoms, including dyskinesia (sudden uncontrolled movements). It may be given alone or in combination with other medicines (eg, levodopa) for Parkinson’s disease.
