The difference between Chest Posterior Anterior (PA) and Anterior Posterior (AP) radiographs. Erect PA projections are considered the ‘gold standard’ for chest projection imaging (CXR). Research has shown you may also be asked to undertake mobile chest radiography with the patient in the prone position.
What does pa View mean?
In a posteroanterior (PA) view, the x-ray source is positioned so that the x-ray beam enters through the posterior (back) aspect of the chest and exits out of the anterior (front) aspect, where the beam is detected.
