What is Her Option procedure?
Her Option® is a Cryo-Endometrial Ablation Therapy (CEA), which freezes the endometrial lining to help reduce heavy bleeding. The procedure can be done directly in our office and is performed under local anesthesia. Medication is given to each patient to relax and prevent cramping.
Is Novasure ablation painful?
The chances that you’ll get hurt during an endometrial ablation are low.
How long do uterine ablations last?
Treatment usually lasts three to five minutes. Radiofrequency. A special instrument unfurls a flexible ablation device inside the uterus. The device transmits radiofrequency energy that vaporizes the endometrial tissue in one to two minutes.
What is cryoablation uterus?
During the cryoablation procedure, your doctor will gently insert a slender probe through the vagina into the uterus. The probe is then cooled until the uterus reaches sub-zero temperatures. These freezing temperatures effectively destroy endometrium—or uterine lining—which is responsible for menstrual bleeding.
How is cryoablation done?
During cryoablation, a thin, wandlike needle (cryoprobe) is inserted through your skin and directly into the cancerous tumor. A gas is pumped into the cryoprobe in order to freeze the tissue. Then the tissue is allowed to thaw.
