About the Ghana MTC. The missionary training center in Ghana, Africa, is located in the community of Tema, approximately 15 kilometers east of Accra, Ghana’s capital. Construction on the facility began in 2001, and it was dedicated on May 17, 2002.
How long is MTC training?
At the beginning of their service, missionaries usually spend 3–12 weeks at an MTC where they receive training in doctrine, conduct, proselytizing methods, and, when required, a new language.
How do I make my house a MTC?

What do you learn in the MTC?
This training is the primary purpose of the MTC—to hone your understanding of the gospel and learn how to effectively share the message of the gospel with others. Your teachers will be returned missionaries who know how to help you develop the missionary skills you need.
What do you do in the MTC?
While in the MTC, your branch president will conduct Sunday meetings, hold personal interviews, and be available to answer questions and help you solve problems. There are 56 branches at the MTC, divided into two districts with district presidencies (the equivalent of stake presidencies).
