KG Gun Kote offers excellent impact resistance, lubrication, heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, scratch resistance, and durability. Gun Kote is a thin hard coating that will give excellent protection from abrasion.
What is Gunkote made of?
Upon curing, the coating forms a hard layer that is flexible up to 180°, and it meets (even exceeds) stringent military and aerospace standards. This single part air cured coating is the product of our proprietary single component water-based polyurethane resin system.
Is Gun Kote durable?
(Tests were performed on Aluminum in a salt spray chamber with 50/50 on/off time at 35 degrees C.) Resistant to chemicals, oils and solvents common to Automotive and Aircraft Industries. Helps to cool parts by dissipating heat. Gun Kote will withstand temperatures over 500 degrees F and as low as -320 degrees F.
What is gun coat?
Gun-Coat is an excellent clp-type of product as it cleans, lubricates and protects, all without the nasty solvents many gun products use. In addition, the rust inhibitors found in Gun-Coat make it an excellent candidate for dip coating parts that are already rusted. Steel parts can also be dipped for storage.
How good is KG GunKote?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with KG GunKote, aside from the lack of color options, and we’re happy to use it if you decide that it’s best for your weapon. Both finishes are fantastic, we just happen to like Cerakote better.

What are gun barrels coated with?
