What is velpar?
VELPAR® L herbicide is a water-dispersible liquid that is mixed in water and applied as a spray for weed control in certain crops, Christmas trees, forestry site preparation and release areas, and industrial areas. VELPAR® L is noncorrosive to equipment.
Does VELPAR kill trees?
On woody plants, symptoms usually appear within 3–6 weeks after sufficient rainfall has carried the herbicide into the root zone during periods of active growth. Defoliation and refoliation may occur, but susceptible plants are killed.
How do you use velpar?
Apply VELPAR® L using a fixed boom power sprayer or aerial equipment. For ground applications apply in a minimum of 20 gallons of spray solution per acre and by air in a minimum of 5 gallons per acre. Use at least 5 pints of water per each 1 pint of VELPAR® L.
How do you mix velpar?
Foxtail (Setaria spp.) aerial equipment. Add VELPAR® L to a water-filled tank and mix it thoroughly. Apply it in at least 20 gal of water per acre by ground or 5 to 10 gal of water per acre by air.
