The differences between the base FXR and the FXRS Lowrider were cosmetic. Seat, handlebars, chrome/black wrinkle motor, paint. The FXRS-SP, and the FXRS Convertible had performance upgrades. Forks, brakes, air suspension, etc.
What is a FXRS Harley?
The FXRS was the deluxe model with two tone paint, mag wheels and a backrest. The FXR chassis was essentially an FLT Tour Glide chassis with slightly bigger diameter frame tubes and a more conventional design around the steering head.
Why are FXRS so popular?
The fact was that the FXR was designed to challenge the foreign bikes that were slowly gaining a significant market share. The foreign bikes were sportier, rode better, and offered better ride comfort. The FXR changed that. It offered a better, steady riding experience and delivered great handling.
