Have used the Osagian Lil Missouri Canoe for years. I can never ask more. With the keel and sponsons it is incredibly stable. With a small outboard it is incredible. It readily accepts an outboard. It is maneuverable, and fast. It has been incredible to hunt waterfowl. It is so easy.

Are ABS canoes good for beginners?

I recommend this canoe to beginners because it is inexpensive, durable, and stable. I would like to try a more expensive ABS canoe like a Mohawk Nova or Intrepid to see how much better they are. They are slightly lighter, 79 pounds vs. 72/76 pounds. I’m not sure an $1100 dollar canoe is considered a real canoe though.
