Clocky, an invention of Media Arts and Science graduate student Gauri Nanda, is designed to roll off the table and hide when its snooze bar is pressed.
What is Clocky Robotic Alarm?
Nanda Home’s Clocky is a robotic alarm clock on wheels that runs away beeping. You can snooze one time, but if you don’t get up, Clocky will jump off of your nightstand up to 3 feet high, and run around your room as if looking for a place to hide.
How do I use Clocky alarm?
Clocky Alarm Clock Instructions
- Insert a small screwdriver into the screw on the battery compartment at the rear of the clock.
- Press the “t” button once to set the current time.
- Press the “a” button to set the alarm time.
- Press the “a” button quickly two times to set the snooze time.
How do I get Clocky to move?
Help! My Clocky doesn’t move. Make sure you press the ‘wheels on’ button which is the left button located on Clocky’s face. An icon will appear on the screen indicating that the wheels have been turned on. Note that Clocky will not move until a minute after the snooze button has been pressed.

How do you snooze a Clocky Clock?
HOW SNOOZE BUTTON WORKS
- Press the ‘a’ button twice rapidly.
- Press the ‘m’ button to choose your desired number of snooze minutes 0, 1, 2, etc can be chosen.
- If 0 is chosen, the snooze button will be disabled.
- To leave this mode, press the ‘a’ button again or just wait for the current time screen to resume.
When was clocky made?
2004
Nanda created Clocky in 2004 when asked to create a practical product for an industrial design course. She was somewhat taken by surprise when the device attracted a great deal of attention after its description was posted, along with dozens of other student projects, on the Media Lab website.
