Will VAG COM work on other cars?
Generic OBD-II functionality is “Supported” only on VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda cars. It will likely work on many other brands of cars. We’d be happy to receive feedback as to what other brands and models of cars it does and does not work on, however, we do not feel obligated to make it work on other manufacturer’s cars.
What can VAG COM do?
VCDS software is basically used to diagnose and adjust motor vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. It enables users to view and adjust data that different car computers use. With the right cable, the software can be used in examining any car from VAG group for maintenance and diagnostic procedures.
How do I program my ECU?
Programming overview
- Connect the vehicle interface cable to the OBD-II connector and turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Open the ProECU software and choose Tools then Detect Vehicle.
- Select Program Engine ECU.
- Choose Query ECU to identify the ECU version fitted to the car.
