Aerial Classes: We recommend wearing close-fitting workout clothes that cover the armpits and backs of the knees. Yoga pants/leggings and a t-shirt would be an appropriate outfit. Pole Classes: We recommend wearing short shorts, a sports bra or tank top, and bringing socks or leg warmers.
What age should you start doing aerial silks?
All beginner aerial students ages 8-12 should register for Youth Aerial Sling. Students will be placed from there when they are ready to advance. All beginner teen students can register for any teen class listed on the schedule.

The silks themselves have a breaking strength of around 3,000 pounds. So no, there is no “weight limit” on our classes. Being heavier may make certain elements of the experience different, but our instructors are trained in how to accomodate bigger bodied students in a supportive, body-positive environment.
Can I wear shorts to aerial silks?
Wear leggings or tights. Running shorts are not the best choice. The loose fit will work against you as you give everyone a view of things you probably don’t want on display. Yoga pants are your friend. If you want to wear shorts, get ones that are form fitting and comfortably hug your thighs.

Do you need to be flexible to do trapeze?
You don’t have to be super flexible, either. Full splits look pretty, but you 100% do not need to have them to come to aerial class. (I’m still working on getting mine!) If you can’t touch your toes or do a backbend, you can still do aerial. It’s all about starting where you are and working toward where you want to be.
Can kids aerial?
Age 6-12. Kids will learn over 150 different moves on the Silks, Hoop, and Still Trapeze. Students advance at their own pace, some students can be in Level 1 for a couple of years, some for only a couple of months. It all depends on their movement background, their maturity, and the frequency of their attendance.
