What does full RAC cover include?
Remember – the RAC includes roadside and home rescue as standard for new members. Unlike other providers, we won’t make you upgrade for cover at home. Having vehicle recovery means we’ll tow your vehicle to a garage if we can’t fix it on the spot. At the RAC, we include a 10-mile tow with our ‘Standard’ cover.

Although we will charge for replacement parts, fuel and batteries, your breakdown cover membership does include free fitting and labour for any replacements we provide, so you only pay for the cost of the part. We’ll even recycle your old battery for you.

If you run out fuel, the RAC can come to help. We also provide Mis-Fuel Rescue as an optional service on your breakdown cover. If you put the wrong kind of fuel into your vehicle, we’ll help to drain and clean out the fuel system.

RAC car insurance has been an incredibly easy provider to deal with, any claims are handled quickly with the option available for RAC to handle the necessary repair/mechanical work directly themselves, removing the stress from the situation. Would happily recommend. I dislike that if I was to claim flood damage it would damage my no claim bonus.

“ Theres a reason RAC insurance is scoring 2/3. They could be more up front about things. First year they roped me in with a lower quote and this year bumped up by 20% for no reason. When i enquired they said first year was introductory new customer. What about loyalty, thats whay don’t have any.

Ceiling collapsed in rental (had been a customer with RAC contents for 12+years without any claims) property – RAC was also the insurer for the home owner, which they didn’t admit to up-front – no access to independent assessor.
What is your experience with RAC like?
Unfortunately my experience with RAC has not been pleasant. The customer service officers are not at all helpful and are actually quite abrupt and rude. When trying to find out the next steps to take it was like getting blood from a stone. I suggest further customer service training is required.
