There was no “electro pop” label around this time in the early to mid-80’s, but there was electro-punk music. However, “electro-punk” I believe referred to groups like Suicide, maybe Devo, and even early Human League. The whole “electro” label just wasn’t used widely yet during the 80’s, they apparently liked the word “synth” better.
