What is an ANL type fuse?
What is an ANL type fuse?
ANL type fuses are the most common types of fuses used to protect the main power wire in car audio systems. ANL fuses are available from Bussmann in sizes from 35 amps to 750 amps.
What is AFS fuse for?
KICKER® AFS Fuses are platinum plated for maximum current transfer. These high-amp fuses are the best way to protect the investment you have in your sound system. This pair of 100-amp fuses are a convenient way to protect your system. Deliver all the battery power your system needs to get the most our your amplifiers.
What is the difference between AMG and ANL fuses?
ANL fuses have a higher AIC rating – 6000 amps. AMG fuses only have a 2000 amp AIC rating. That is the largest difference. It relates to battery bank size and the unique ability of a fuse with a low AIC rating to keep the circuit closed after blowing – in effect welding shut.
What is an ANL?
ANL Circuit Fuses ANL fuses are used for general cable protection, providing a ‘medium blow’ (around 1 second) protection. These ANL fuses all feature fixing holes suitable for 5/16″ studs and range from 50 amps to 500 amps. Fuse holders designed for ANL fuses are also available.
What is the difference between a mega fuse and a ANL fuse?
MEGA fuses are suitable for 12V and 24V battery systems and are mainly intended for short circuit protection since these are relatively slow acting fuses. Main applications are protection of batteries, alternators and cabling. The ANL fuses that we have in stock are suitable for 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems.
Are ANL fuses directional?
It doesn’t matter which end of the fuse holder gets used for going to the battery and which goes to the jack. Fuses don’t require current to flow through them in a certain direction so either way is fine.
What is the difference between ANL and AFS fuses?
ANL fuses are larger and range from 100 to 300 amps while AFS fuses are smaller ranging from 40 to 125. Remember that ANL fuses have the highest capacity of any fuse type so these are ideal for high wattage systems.
What is the difference between MiniMini ANL and AFS?
Mini ANL and AFS are basically the same thing with their wafer style design. These fuses are used in fuse holders and are run in-line between the battery and the amplifier. Depending on the RMS wattage of your amplifier, you will require a different fuse rating. Failure to use the right sized fuse will have dire consequences!
What is the difference between ANL and MRBF fuse?
ANL fuses are also used for high-current applications, and can go up to 500 amps. MRBF/ZCASE – This is a single MEGA type fuse that is used for very high current application, most commonly the starter. It is mounted with a single bolt. Fuse ratings range from 40 to 250 amp.
What is the difference between ATC and Agu fuses?
Then there are MAXI fuses which are essentially a larger version of the ATC fuse. Last but not least is the AGU fuses which are glass tubes instead of bladed like all of the other ones listed. AGU fuses are used for small to medium sized amps which range from 30 to 100 amps and are included with numerous amp kits.
