NYU’s location allows for many opportunities and internships. The student body is quite diverse, and the school is known to be open-minded and liberal. The school is also well known for its study abroad programs, and more students from NYU study in foreign countries than from any other American university.
Why did I pick NYU?
I decided to come to NYU because its versatility appealed to me at the time. There are many schools within NYU and many, many majors, concentrations, and minors. Anything you could possibly want to do, you can do at NYU. Furthermore, the great public transportation didn’t limit me to just the college area.
What type of person should go to NYU?
An NYU student should be a dedicated and hard working student, adventurous, open minded, and willing to take advantage of the city and all of the amazing resources that surround the school.
Is it worth studying in NYU?
If you need more hand-holding or are unsure of your direction, NYU is great, you can’t help but absorb a lot of new people and ideas. Also, if you’re studying something very esoteric, NYU will be better able to support you. Is it worth the mountain of debt? That’s up to you.

NYU is extremely social, and there are always events going on or things to do. On weekends, students either hang out their friend’s dorms or apartments, go out to restaurants in the city, talk a walk through the west village or up by Central Park, or go out to the many clubs and bars in the surrounding area.
What are NYU students like?
NYU students are extremely open-minded and liberal. There is very little frat culture on campus, so I imagine someone who is looking for that type of college experience would certainly feel as if something is missing. Every class is so diverse ethnically and socially.
