How to respond to interview questions?

How to respond to interview questions?

Use storytelling to make yourself more memorable

  • Share specific facts and data in your answers
  • Make comparisons between your past experience and the job duties in this role
  • Be brief and concise; get to the point quickly
  • Don’t rush – ask for a second to think when you need to,and ask for clarification if you don’t understand a question
  • End some of your answers with a question directed at the interviewer
  • Make your answers about their needs, not yours
  • Speak with higher-than-normal energy and enthusiasm
  • Treat it like a regular conversation
  • Talk about the future and how you’ll directly help them
  • Tell the truth – be honest, accountable, and upfront when answering questions and you’ll get more job offers
  • How to answer the ‘tell me about yourself’ interview question?

Present: Talk a little bit about what your current role is,the scope of it,and perhaps a big recent accomplishment.

  • Past: Tell the interviewer how you got there and/or mention previous experience that’s relevant to the job and company you’re applying for.
  • Future: Segue into what you’re looking to do next and why you’re interested in this gig (and a great fit for it,too).
  • How many questions should you ask on a job interview?

There are an infinite number of questions you could ask during a job interview, but if you stay focused on those three goals, the questions should come easy to you. I recommend preparing three to five questions for each interview, and actually ask three of them.
