Movember (a portmanteau of the Australian-English diminutive word for moustache, “mo”, and “November”) is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.
What Movember means?
Movember is a month-long event in which people are encouraged to grow mustaches in order to raise (grow) awareness of and funding for research related to men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. Those participating in Movember often use the hashtag #Movember on social media.
Is Movember still a thing?
The movement is still going strong, and even if the novelty of November mustaches seems to have worn off, the organization is still raising money for men’s health. Globally, Movember has raised $994 million in 17 years.
