What is PACER? The Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) service provides electronic public access to federal court records. PACER provides the public with instantaneous access to more than 1 billion documents filed at all federal courts.

Is Pacer monitored by the federal government?
All activities of PACER subscribers or users of this system for any purpose, and all access attempts, may be recorded and monitored by persons authorized by the federal judiciary for improper use, protection of system security, performance of maintenance and for appropriate management by the judiciary of its systems.
What is the Pacer case locator (PCL)?
The PCL serves as a search tool for PACER. You may conduct nationwide searches to determine whether or not a party is involved in federal litigation. Each night, subsets of data are collected from the courts and transferred to the PCL. The PACER Case Locator (PCL) is a national index for district, bankruptcy, and appellate courts.
