Do supervisors get QLeave?
Why can’t my admin or professional staff be registered with QLeave? Technically they’re still in the industry because they’re employed by a building and construction company. Only workers performing building and construction work are eligible to receive long service leave payments through QLeave.
Do employers have to pay QLeave?
Employers must pay a levy to QLeave each quarter in addition to completing an Employer Return. We calculate the levy based on 0.75% of workers’ ordinary wages paid during the return period. Click here to find out more about calculating ordinary wages.
Can you backdate QLeave?
We may be able to backdate your membership to the start of the financial year (1 July) two years prior to your registration with the Scheme.
Does QLeave levy include GST?
Is GST payable on the QLeave levy? No. GST is not payable on the QLeave levy and does not need to be included when notifying the cost of work.

When did QLeave start?
Our history QLeave was established on 1 July 1992 by the Queensland Government to provide portable long service leave benefits for the state’s building and construction industry.

How much does it cost to register with qleave?
There is no fee to register with QLeave. However, registered employers pay a levy based on the ordinary wages of their workers. Over-award payments, weekend and public holiday penalty rates (when worked as ordinary hours), most allowances, sick leave, and annual leave are included in the definition of ‘ordinary wages’.
How does qleave calculate reimbursement for long service?
If you pay a worker’s long service leave, under their industrial instrument, you can claim reimbursement for long service you have recorded with QLeave after January 2021. We calculate the payment in accordance with the legislation and base it on the wages you’ve declared for the worker.
