Alumilite warns that this epoxy can begin to yellow as soon as 30-60 days after pouring. So, this epoxy is recommended for use over colorful backgrounds where slight yellowing won’t be noticed.
How thick can you pour casting resin?
As long as you pour in 1/8″ layers, you can go as thick as you like. The reason we recommend this thickness is two-fold: first, it allows the bubbles to escape properly, and second, it avoids any excessive overheating of the resin. So for best results always pour in a 1/8″ layer, and you’re good to go!
How long is Alumilite resin good for?
One year, however as long as the resin has been kept free from moisture, it may still be good to use for much longer periods of time. Resin that has been as old as 4 and 5 years old works with no problems as long as it has been sealed and free from moisture.

With all resin, make sure you mix equal parts! And this will self level. So if you’re putting this in a mold, make sure you’re level. If you have bubbles, you can take a heat gun to it.
