Joint Professional Military Education, Phase II (JPME II) is a career milestone for joint warfighters and was designed and implemented to assist with the development of military leaders.

Military education is valuable because it provides an intellectual architecture for battlefield success. It contributes to stable civil-military relations, a culture of reflection, and a capacity for critical analysis.

In one sense it refers to a plethora of training, continuing education, and other activities designed to provide development to members of the military at various points in their career and to prepare them for the next level of responsibilities.
What level of military education do you get with CGSOC?
Students will receive Joint Professional Military Education Level 1 and Military Education Level 4 credit upon completion of both the CGSOC Common Core course and a Department of the Army approved credentialing course. For operations career field officers, the approved credentialing course is the Advanced Operations Course.
Is professional military education a post-graduate degree?
One prevailing view is that professional military education at this level is analogous to a civilian post-graduate degree designed to put an individual at the same level as those with whom they will work, both in terms of credentials and a basis of knowledge and expertise that will be a consistent product across institutions and cohorts.
