Yes. All of the instructions say you have to activate the ifit to use the device. You can bypass this by holding down the bluetooth button for about 5-10 seconds on the main display.

How does the iFit Street View work?
The iFit street view is integrated with the treadmill computer. As the route changes with hills and flat terrain, the machine automatically adjusts the incline and resistance to simulate the elevation data from the Google Maps.
How do I create a map based workout in iFit?
Just follow these steps. 1. Log into your iFit account at iFit.com. 2. Hover over CREATE and choose Map Based Workout. 3. Type in a Name. 4. Choose Run (which covers every non-bike workout). 5. Enter your desired location and hit Enter. 6. Click on a road and start creating your route.
Where can I find the iFit workout schedule?
The blog and live daily workout schedule for treadmills, bikes, and strength training can be accessed online too. If you’re using a tablet or your machine’s touchscreen to access iFit, tap the “On Air” tab on-screen as shown below. Live workouts feature the same automatic machine control, so it feels like being in a studio class.
