As a private GCSE candidate, your exams are not free. You’ll need to pay for each one individually at the time of booking. The costs vary (see below), but you can usually expect to pay around £100 per exam.
Who pays the fee for any clerical re check or review of marking?
You’ll receive a copy of the reviewed script with a clerical re-check or review of marking as part of the service, there is no charge for this. If you’re not planning a clerical re-check, review of marking or appeal, you can also ask us to send you an original marked paper to support teaching and learning.

How long does a GCSE appeal take?
This step can only be taken if you have already appealed directly through the exam board. The official timeframe to appeal is 21 days from receiving the final outcome from the official exam board. Evidence of a final appeal decision from the exam board will be required in order to process the appeal successfully.

Log in to e-AQA and select ‘Post-results services’. Select Service 2 for a review of marking or Service 2P for a priority review of marking. If you want a copy of the reviewed papers, select ‘Copy required’ on the submission screen.
