Just outside the lovely town of Latrobe in northern Tasmania is a picnic, come forest park called Warrawee Forest Park. It is one of the best places I have ever come across to see platypus in the wild.

Take Hamilton rd, past Old Deloraine rd to Wirawee conservation reserve. The rd into the reserve was still closed but we were able to park and walk. We walked about 500 metres and found a small track along the river.
