Chasmfiends are massive crustacean-like creatures, that grow up to fifty feet tall. They are covered with a hard, protective exoskeleton of interlocking carapace the color of dark, violet ink.
How many legs does a Chasmfiend have?

Oathbringer was bonded to Dalinar when he was twenty Weepings old. He used it in combat with the Parshendi. Near the end of The Way of Kings, Dalinar gave the Blade to Sadeas in exchange for the bridgemen who’d protected him when Sadeas abandoned him to the Parshendi.
Where did Dalinar get Oathbringer?
It was later discovered by Bridge Four on a patrol and given to Dalinar, who kept it for a short while without bonding it before giving it to Ialai, Sadeas’ widow. She bestowed the blade on Amaram, who bonded it despite already owning a different Shardblade.
Are the fused Voidbringers?

What happens when you kill a chasmfiend?
When killed, chasmfiends attract an unknown type of spren, which appears to be silver in color and is similar to a wisp of smoke. They float out of a freshly killed chasmfiend’s body. In a symbiotic relationship with the chasmfiend, they are part of what allow the creatures to grow to the size they do with an exoskeleton.
Can a Shardblade kill a chasmfiend?
The chrysalis within which the chasmfiend pupates is very like an enormous, oblong rockbud; fifteen feet tall and attached to the uneven stone of the Shattered Plains by something that looks like crem. Plunging a Shardblade into it would kill the pupating creature, but avoid the region with the valuable gemheart.
