Should I buy a GTX 970 instead of a GTX 980?
I do plan on purchasing another 980 in the future once the price starts to lower but if you are going for multi-monitor gameplay I would recommend getting two 970s instead of one 980. The performance will be better for 15% more cost. If you are running one monitor at up to 2k resolution then one of these should be no problem.
Does the twin frozr V technology work with ultra?
If you are running at 1080p resolution then you will be able to run everything at Ultra while this baby isn’t even making a squeak of noise. The Twin Frozr V technology let’s only one fan go to work under light load (lower temperatures) but the other fan will kick in once the temperatures start going up.
Can afterburner control more than one fan on the 980?
If you want to control the other fan you have to use another piece of software like MSI Gaming APP. AB does control both fans on the 970. said: Each fan has it’s own controller on the 980, MSI decided to do it this way for some crazy reason. Afterburner will only control one fan and the author of AB (Unwinder) says it will stay that way.
