How do I get to Untermyer Park?
The main entrance is located at 945 North Broadway in Yonkers, just south of St. John’s Hospital. From the Saw Mill Parkway, take Exit 9/Executive Blvd., and go up the hill to North Broadway. Turn left on North Broadway, then go 1/2 mile and turn right at entrance to gardens.
What happened to Greystone Mansion in Yonkers?
With the exigencies of Depression and War, the gift was turned down, but “Greystone” eventually became a park of the city of Yonkers. The house was demolished. After years of neglect, the gardens have been stabilized and are being superbly restored.
Can you picnic in Untermyer Gardens?
