What is HeliBar?
What is HeliBar?
HeliBar is a helical stainless steel reinforcing bar, with substantial tensile properties, used for strengthening and stabilizing masonry in both new build and remedial situations.
What is a Helibeam?
The Helibeam System comprises the installation of horizontal bed-joint reinforcement into masonry that has cracked and failed due to ground movement, component failure, weathering or increased loads and stresses. It works by tying the masonry together to create deep masonry beams which distribute structural loads.
How do you mix HeliBond?
Mix the contents of a “Pack Set” (1 Powder and 1 Liquid pack) of HeliBond by adding the powder to the liquid in the pail provided. Stir thoroughly using a powered paddle mixer. Do not attempt to mix by hand as this is likely to lead to erratic results.
What is crack stitching?
In basic terms crack stitching is the masonry repair method for repairing cracked walls and ensuring that they are reinforced. It involves retrofitting a number of crack stitching bars which are grouted across cracks in walls in order to reconnect them and provide stability to the masonry.
What are stitching bars?
Helically twisted crack stitching bars are used to reconnect and reinforce cracked masonry walls and brickwork. These 6mm profilled and twisted stainless steel bars are bonded across cracks in a wall to increase the tensile and flexural strength of masonry.
What is HeliBar stitching?
Helifix crack stitching provides a quick, simple, effective and permanent means of stabilising cracked masonry. Installation involves bonding stainless steel HeliBars into appropriate bed joints or cut slots in bricks, blocks or stonework, using HeliBond cementitious grout.
Can you cut HeliBars?
Repairing Cracks Near Corners & Openings e.g. if there are three cracks, each 250mm apart, then the overall length of HeliBar required would be 1.5m. The horizontal slot, normally the mortar bed, can be cut using a twin diamond blade chaser with vacuum attachment, an angle grinder or a mortar chisel.
Can you cut Helibars?
What is dormant crack?
Dormant cracks are those cracks in concrete which once occurred does not propagate or extend anymore and becomes dormant. Repair of Dormant Cracks in Concrete. Sealing of Cracks. Routing and Sealing of Cracks. Bond Breaking Method.
Do helical bars work?
Do Helical Bars Work? Helical stitching bars are a great way to add tensile strength to existing masonry which has started to crack. They work similarly to standard forms of bed joint reinforcement used during initial construction, such as brick reinforcement ladders and mesh.
