Marshall revised the circuit board in 2001 to fix the issues with bias drift…..so look for a newer one. The 50 watt version never had these issues. I have a 98 DSL50. No issues with bias drift, and it has the nice Drake transformers. The 100W version had moved on to the Dagnals by then, IIRC.
Is the dsl50 close to a JCM 800?
The DSL can get close to a JCM 800 on the green channel with a boost. I liked to keep the red channel gain 4 or less. The shared EQ makes it a challenge to balance the tone on both channels effectively. I’d love to have a DSL50.
