The Vermont Castings foundry in Randolph, Vermont (pop. 5,009) is the only cast-iron foundry in the hearth industry. There, parts are cast then trucked eight miles away to Bethel, Vermont (pop. 2,030) where assembly takes place; it’s also where the Vermont Castings line of grills is manufactured.

Vermont Castings Gas Grill had great quality exterior and components, crappy interior. Firebox and Drip Tray disintegrated after only a few seasons of operation. Had those two items been produced of the same grade stainless steel as the exterior instead of that porcelain coated sheet metal this grills would last several lifetimes.
Is Vermont Castings Aspen a good cast iron skillet?
It’s main competitor in the cast iron category is the Jotul 602 and you can find it here. I think the Vermont Castings Aspen is a little better quality, but neither are a bad choice. They are really similar in price and features. I think it comes down to looks between the two, they really do have two distinct styles about them.
