There is free lakeside parking at the country park from which you can access the lake, swim, canoe or to walk round Llanberis or climb up the mountain. The lake is 2 miles long with well marked paths to explore around it. The slate museum at the end of the lake is interesting and free.

It is possible to swim in the plunge pool, but even in summer the water is cold and the rocks are slippery. So be careful if you go swimming.
