Mandalay Bay Beach is open seasonally from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The wave pool is restricted to those who are at least 48″ tall. This requirement is for the kids’ own safety since the waves can be quite high.

Mandalay Bay is not too far. The Strip has to start somewhere, and MB gets that lucky first slot. It has a tram that will take you to next door resorts Luxor and Excalibur and from there it’s easy to walk further into the action.
