Required Summer Attendance Policy All students entering a state university with fewer than sixty semester credit hours must earn at least nine semester hours prior to graduation by attending one or more Summer terms at one of the state universities.

Students are required to complete nine hours of courses during the summer semester. They do not have to be taken at the same time or at FSU; however, summer courses must be taken at a public university in Florida.

Can main campus students take online courses? Yes. If you’re currently taking face-to-face courses at the main campus, you can register to take online courses as well.
What is the Florida State summer offer?
Students start their FSU experience in the summer by completing a course offered through FSU International Programs. Students will be elligible to start at the FSU Tallahassee campus the following August. More information on this program is available on the International Programs website.
Will Bright Futures pay for summer classes FSU?
FAS students can receive an award during the summer sessions to cover tuition and applicable fees. Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) will receive an award to cover 75% of tuition and applicable fees.
