Why is the Routeburn Track closed?
The Routeburn Great Walk will not fully reopen this season, due to damage from major slips between Mackenzie Hut and the Divide Shelter. The Milford Track is still impassable at the northern end, and the final 7 kilometres of the track will not reopen this season.
