The new parking charges at Thorndon and the other Country Parks across Essex have been introduced following a public consultation and have been reviews to offer payment flexibility and good value parking to customers in response to short stay visitors who do not wish to pay for a full day of parking.

The trail helps children understand our native woodland and see it as a welcoming place. The Gruffalo Trail takes about 45 minutes. Get a map at the Countryside Centre in Thorndon North for a small charge. Please keep dogs on a lead and wear wellies!

At Thorndon North the toilets are located in a separate building behind the Countryside Centre, close to the car park. At Thorndon South, the toilets can be found in the Octagon Pavilion. Toilets include baby changing and disabled facilities.
