- Step 1: Mark the middle of the inside of the folder.
- Step 2: Measure the middle 250mm portion and draw lines across the whole folder.
- Step 3: Cut along the lines to remove the outer parts.

Thankfully, PECS is completely customizable to fit your child’s needs, personality, and preferences. It does take a lot of work to make it unique to your child! But in the end, if you have helped your child communicate his or her needs to you… All the customization of a picture communication system is worth it!

How do you get started with pecs?
Many people start with photos too. The first PECs cards I made were generally photos I took of my son’s toys and favourite foods, I used a free resource on the SEN teacher website. This allowed me to easily print out cards and find photos’ online, you will need Flash for this to work.
