How do you use Citra?
Here are the basic steps for how to use Citra Emulator on Android:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and grant permission requests.
- Select the folder that contains your ROMs.
- Choose a game and start playing!
Is using Citra illegal?
Emulation isn’t illegal and Nintendo has no rights to Citra or what it does. The only thing they have rights to in regards to Citra are: Distribution of BIOS files and firmware. Distribution of game ROM files.
Can you use Citra without a 3DS?
Citra does not natively run dumps of games that have not been decrypted properly (unless you have dumped your own system keys). This requires a physical 3DS and the game you own.
Why is there no 3DS emulator?
the 3ds was made with the sole intent of running games in 3D, where as your phone was most likely not. Couple this with the lack of safe roms (since Nintendo is cracking down) and developers really have no inclination to creating an emulator. Android Operating System can’t handle 3DS performance.
