Use Nikwax Tech Wash® in a washing machine…
- Remove all detergent build up from the detergent dispenser.
- Place item(s) in washing machine (maximum 2 items).
- Use 150ml in medium/hard water* areas and 100ml in soft water areas for 1-2 items.
- Wash according to care label.
Does Nikwax expire?
Nikwax only guarantees for 4 years.
Can you use Nikwax on tent?
Synthetic fabrics used for tents and rucksacks are coated with a water repellent treatment. The application of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® can double the effective life of equipment by protecting against UV damage, while also providing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) to keep the rain out.

How do I add DWR to my Nikwax products?
First, try cleaning with a suitable Nikwax Cleaner, and if it is fairly new, or recently re-waterproofed, the DWR will be revitalised just from cleaning. But, once the item has been thoroughly used, you will need to add DWR, using a suitable Nikwax Waterproofer, after cleaning.
