How long does Durabak last?
Five years is normally the minimum time in which [Durabak] might begin to wear down, however, many customers do get 10 to 15 years of good use. In light of our coatings color change and breakdown, Durabak offered to send new product for re-application, as they would for any customer whose coating failed.

Is Durabak and Herculiner the same?
Durabak is manufactured by the same company that makes Herculiner and comes in two versions, one with no UV stability and the second version does claim to be UV stable for a 35% premium. Durabak has the same issues as Herculiner with roughness, uniformity of texture and a hard to clean surface.
How long for Durabak to dry?
Most of the time you can walk on Durabak in 6-12 hours. Heavier traffic should wait until fully cured in about 4 days.

How do you remove Durabak?
If you are using a Durabak liner, apply a urethane remover such as Peel Away. Put the thinner onto the liner and let it soak for about 10 to 15 minutes. This will soften the bond and make the material easier to scrape off. Consider doing this in small sections at a time for the best results.
Can you sand Durabak?
Yes, Durabak is repairable. However, prior to doing the touch up you should lightly sand the area with 80 grit sandpaper. This will help the new Durabak bond with the old Durabak. After sanding, clean the area of any shavings and when completely dry you could apply the new Durabak.
How do you use Durabak?
Apply first coat of DURABAK™ as a thin coat to fully cover. When touch dry – usually within 1½ to 3 hours – apply second coat. To avoid “mud cracking” or pooling, do not apply DURABAK™ thickly. Between coats, pour a small amount of Xylene over rollers, so rollers will not dry out.
