Follow the defined path and signs leading to the First Flatiron climbing access. After crossing a wooden bridge, the route begins at the base of a staircase against the rock.

Which Flatiron is hardest to climb?
From where the trail meets the base of the 2nd Flatiron, the first pitch of Freeway is the hardest and steepest. This view looks up the start of Freeway at sunrise. It then levels out a little, allowing for easy and very enjoyable scrambling.
