Certainly not, Even though you don’t have the last layer parity in the 5×5, there are edge-parities that take just as much time. Personally, I feel that the 5×5 does seem to be a much better puzzle to solve when you don’t really feel like engaging with the cubing part :P.
Is 4×4 better than 5×5?
A 5×5 maximizes, for the average person, both the enervation response and the required volume, but 4×6 or 6×4, would work similarly. A 4×4 suggests a good warm-up and a greater emphasis on intensity than volume, and strength than hypertrophy.
